Our mission is to offer Christ to those we encounter and to nurture, equip, and enable persons to become committed Christians in our community and the world beyond.
We are United Methodists.
Our Wesleyan Heritage
John Wesley (1703-1791) and other early Methodists saw their work in the simplest, most uncomplicated terms:
“Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.”
Our basic theology and practice is seen in the Wesleyan Quadrilateral, which states that our faith comes from Scripture, Tradition, Reason and Experience. The United Methodist Church puts a primary emphasis on God’s grace, rather than on judgment. This faith is stronger than fear and is lived out through acts of love and service.
We live the promises we made the day we joined Laurel Heights United Methodist Church to support the church with our prayers, our presence, our gifts, our service and our witness. In good times and in tough times, we roll up our sleeves and say, “Let’s get to work,” as together we answer the call to make disciples of Jesus Christ.
Our Distinctive Witness
We love worship, the study of God’s Word, music, church suppers, a sense of community, of belonging, and of sharing with others.
Every church has its own distinctive witness that makes it unique in a community. Laurel Heights celebrates its traditional style of worship offered at both of our Sunday morning services
Regardless of where you are in your spiritual journey, we invite you to join us as we walk with Christ together, seeking the One who has the answers to life’s dilemmas and can provide the peace that passes all understanding.
Our hearts, our minds, and our doors are always open.
