Juan Antonio Arredondo, known by most as Tony, went to be with the Lord on December 11, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Billie Jean. They were childhood friends for over 50 years. He is also survived by siblings Maria Elena (Patrick) Golden, Joseph (Jordan) Arredondo, Anna Marie (Bryant) Arredondo-Wilson, Christine Nicole (Daniel) Garcia, Elizabeth Amanda (Burt) Smith, and half-sister Rosalinda Arredondo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian T. Arredondo, Jr. and Maria Elena Delgado Arredondo, and his brothers Julian T. Arredondo, III and George Alexander Arredondo, and nephew Julian T. Arredondo, IV. He was loved by many nieces and nephews…too many to count.
He graduated in 1978 from Thomas Edison High School in San Antonio. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from UT Austin to in 1985, and his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting at UT San Antonio in 1987. He worked for 40 years in the convenience store industry, with his final position being with Circle K.
Tony was proud to be an Eagle Scout and made lifelong friends through Scouting. He loved science fiction and often read to his younger sisters when they were growing up. He enjoyed movies and television and was a huge Star Trek fan. He was an active member of Laurel Heights United Methodist Church in San Antonio and was often seen driving the church van around the city picking up elderly members on Sunday mornings. He will be remembered for his faith, his devotion to his wife, and for his friendly, kind, and gentle nature.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Laurel Heights Pastor’s Discretionary Fund in Tony’s memory.
