Children’s Ministry

We believe the community of faith includes all of us and there is no magic age we garner that right.
Being in worship is the best way to learn how to be in worship.
Be sure to visit the Laurel Heights Online Children’s Sunday School showcase for resources.
Nursery care is available Sunday mornings from 8:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Children’s Sunday School

· Preschoolers, age 3 and 4 will meet in Mann Chapel.
This is the small glass-walled chapel inside the sanctuary. This is a Godly Play class where children will learn how to be a part of a Godly Play circle and
listen and wonder about the stories of God.

· Children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade will meet in Room 105.
This is a Godly Play class where the children will discover and wonder about the stories of God and the people of God.

· Grade 3 through Grade 5 will meet in Room 313 A on the third floor.
This class is all about becoming familiar with the bible and the stories it holds. Students in this class will each receive a student bible.

· The Junior High students will meet in Room 320.
This class focuses on Methodism and topics central to the life of the church.

· The Senior High students will meet in Room 321.
This class is a lectionary-based class that digs into the scripture
 reading for each Sunday.

Summer in the Story

During the summer things are different for Sunday School. We dive deep into two stories each summer experienced in a different way each week. We started the summer with the story of Joseph. Now we’re at the start of a series on the Fruits of the Spirit. We hope that no matter your age you will find something to feed your spirit in these short lessons.

Laura Healy joins the Laurel Heights staff as Director of Program Ministries, with a focus on ministries with children and youth. Laura brings years of teaching experience to her role and holds two degrees from the University of Maine. She and her husband, Frank, along with their son, Max, have been a beloved part of the Laurel Heights congregation for many years.
